Emotions of Dashain in quit Kathmandu

Dashain is biggest festival celebrated by Nepalese in Nepal within fifteen days. This is also known as Bada Dashain where families are reunion, happiness, tradition and bless each other. This festival is related to with Goddess Durga, who represents strength, protection, and the power to overcome evil and It is also connected with the story of Lord Ram's victory over Ravan in Hindu tradition. Nepalese 1st day of Dashain called ghattasthapana where they use jamara seed to let them grow for day of Teeka, likely every elder person will put the red teeka on younger's forehead and Jamara it called blessings.

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and huge crowd of people live and shifted here for better opportunities like education, jobs, businesses, living standard, etc. Kathmandu is very crowded with busy city, the sounds of horn, talking people, vendors, lots of restaurants, consultancies, colleges, offices and lots of people who carries the purpose and enter the city. People from different parts of Nepal comes their dream city with carries the dream of success, earn money, give comfort for their families, jobs and higher education. The most highest number of people living district known as capital city. Kathmandu always looks crowed in markets, streets, buses, parks and school & colleges. However, this city get rest, calm and peaceful breathing in Dashain. In the biggest festival of Nepalese people get back to their village, their own houses and actual originated district. And this festival makes city empty, silent but little bit sad, because the people who makes this called dream city by their apparency. Before the Dashain, everyone makes huge crowds in markets for shopping and in this season the huge market sales are start every shops, business give the best price offers and Nepalese do a lots of shopping and panned to leave city. The main things is offices are closed from Phulpati to last dashain day among 1 week but after that for celebrating their biggest festival people are return back the city. However, everyone is excited and happy, Kathmandu seems peaceful, calm, beautiful, good environment in Dashain but little sad because the city goes to empty soon.

Emotions of Kathmandu looks unhappy, only few people stay for Dashain who have their houses here, few shops are open, colleges, offices, businesses and markets are temporarily closed, roads are empty. There is something unusual about seeing a same city without its usual crowed.

The streets that once carried thousands of people now feel silent. Closed shops and quiet city remind us how much the city carries everyday.

For some, this emptiness feels peaceful, for others, it brings a little sadness. A city can look beautiful in its silence and still feel as something missed. Normal days i searched the silenced place of Kathmandu and hard to find one but now all over is emptiness, watching always crowed and now lonely Kathmandu. We wanted this peaceful in other days but when we get this we also feel low, lonely as the city.
